Yummy Sweet Taters
This afternoon was a tough one in the JETJR household, particularly for me. Lynsey and I had come to a decision to try and find our cat Tucker a new home. It would be best for all involved. Things just weren’t working out, he didn’t like Lynsey and would occasionally bite her, he started ruining things around the house (biting cords, breaking picture frames) and he had started acting out towards Jaylyn which is unacceptable to us.
Tucker was a great cat! This afternoon a new family came and picked him up (well the husband did), they have assured me that he will have a good home with other cats and some children in a farm house. I can only hope that that is true and that he will have a better life with all the attention and playmates he can handle. ![]()
Since bringing Jaylyn home he hasn’t gotten the attention he needs and I am sure that contributed towards his behavior. I am also fairly certain that Copper (female-dog) dry humping continuously didn’t help.
Last night we allowed him to sleep with us one last time, he spent the night cuddled next to me, I hope he enjoyed it, I know that I did, I love having him cuddle up next me.
Tucker, you were a great cat, you were our first pet as a couple and as a family, I hope you have a long and fulfilling life in your new home and your new family is good to you. Know that you were and forever shall be loved, even though we didn’t always show it the best.

We would like to welcome the newest addition to the Thornell Family. Jack William Thornell, son of my brother Ryan and his wife Jessica, was born June 11, 2009 at 5:08am. He weighed 8lbs 5oz, and was 20.75in long.
Both Jessica and Jack are doing great. We are very excited for Ryan and Jessica, we cannot wait to meet Jack or for Jaylyn to meet her cousin!

I find it so incredibly hard to believe that my little girl is already four months old. It seems like yesterday we brought her home, and only weeks ago we were still waiting for her to arrive.
It is utterly amazing to watch her grow, she had a 4 month checkup and here are her current stats: 25.5in tall, 15lbs 4oz, and 42cm head diameter.
She will now support herself standing provided we are holding her arms. The doctor says we can start feeding her food in a week! Real (baby) Food… Wow.
I am once again working on the pictures, you may have noticed. All the Jaylyn photos are currently online, click the link above, they are broken down by months of age, and are in a web/flash friendly format.
Various Home Videos we have taken over the last month or so. Enjoy!
Wanted to give the world an update on how Jaylyn’s two month appointment went. She is doing great, growing like a weed! She is up to 23.5 inches long, 12lbs 7oz! She got three shots, which did not go over very well and made for an exciting day for Lynsey. I actually think it hurt Lynsey more to see her get the shots
Life is going good now, we are anxiously waiting on nice spring/summer weather, we know it is around the corner. I have lots of projects planned for around the house this summer and am ready to start. The biggest and most exciting is I am going to start finishing the basement, I have bought all the wood to frame the walls, and am going to start anytime.
If you are looking at the Pictures page, I changed some things around, all the pictures of Jaylyn are there, and some new ones, they are under the 0-2 Month Album.
I have added around 40 new pictures of Jaylyn to the site, at the top click on pictures and then open the appropriate album.
Things are going good, everyone in the family has now met Jaylyn. Dad (JETSR) visited this last weekend and they finally got to meet. Lynsey is doing great and really getting a great system down at home, we think we have figured out some tricks to getting a good nights sleep, there were a few very, very long nights on the way to figuring it out. The weather has been great here lately and I am excited for summer, I am gearing up for all the projects I have planned around the house (more to come later).
Work is work, the economy is what it is, and politics are the same as always. Have a good week!
I finally got around to posting some photos of Jaylyn, I hope you all enjoy them. More to come soon, it is amazing how many photos we have taken in the last 3 weeks. Click the album below or go to the Pictures page at the top.

In the past week there have many new experiences as a father, I can honestly say that they all have been good. The following is a true story, while you may say “Joe how is this a good experience?” I like to think it could have been a lot worse.
Cut to Sunday night, we are sitting at home, I am holding Jaylyn when she farts. Well I thought it was fart, she grunted and turned red. After a few of these farts I put her on the changing table, remove the old diaper, I see a splat of poop in the diaper. I get her cleaned up and get the old diaper removed, so my daughter is sitting there bare assed when she proceeds to shart. She makes a fart noise and a waterfall of poop shoots out of her, this waterfall proceeds to splash me and the changing table. By this point I am laughing hysterically and screaming for Lynsey, I cannot believe what happened.
Never in my life did I think I would see that, what a ride this is going to be.
Quick post, Jaylyn was born on 2-2-09 at 1126pm. She weighed 7lb 10oz and was 21inchs long, both her and Lynsey are doing well. More will will follow when we are home.
