What a year!

February 2nd, 2010

As hard as it is to believe a year of life has passed for Jaylyn. What a year it has been, she has had so many firsts, crawling, walking, saying Dada (my favorite) and lots of other words. We took her out to a celebration dinner, and she behaved super well. There is a video of a special moment on the videos page.

I know I don’t update this site nearly enough, but when you work on computers all day the last thing I want to do is more computer work, deal with it. There will be more photos of both Jaylyn and the basement coming soon. Since nothing can ever be removed from the internet, someday Jaylyn can google this and see how much we love her and adore all the little things she does.

Happy 1st Birthday Jaylyn, Mommy and Daddy love you!

I don’t say it nearly enough

September 2nd, 2009

There are things we all take for granted in life, most of us don’t mean to do it, but it happens none the less. There is one thing I never want to take for granted, rather one person.

My wife Lynsey, she is the most wonderful, loving, funny, and beautiful woman I know. I want her to know that I feel that way and that I don’t tell her it nearly enough.

She does such a wonderful job staying at home with our daughter. Not only does she take care of Jaylyn all day, she ensures that I have clean clothes, delicious meals, a clean and perfectly decorated home.

I want to say thank you, thank you for:

  • Believing in me, even when I don’t believe in myself
  • Putting up with me when I am in a bad mood and acting like an ass
  • Thank you for letting me play video games
  • Putting up with my messiness and cleaning up when I forget
  • Cooking at least 2 meals a day for me
  • Keeping our house looking great
  • Doing our laundry
  • Giving us our amazing daughter
  • Raising our daughter to be awesome like you
  • All the things I could list, but wont

I couldn’t ask for a better wife or for a better best friend. I love you Lynsey!

Summer Time Hectic

July 14th, 2009

Man the summer is flying by in our house, hard to believe July is almost half over and my little girl is just a couple weeks from being 6 months old.

We took Jaylyn to the doctor today for a rash and found out that she weighs18lbs and 1oz! 4 more pounds and we need a bigger car seat, wow. The good news is her rash is just exima, and should clear up with some medicine.

Lynsey and Jaylyn spent the week after the 4th of July with her mom back in Murdo and had a good time. I had a hard time being away from Jaylyn for that long, but I got a lot of work done on the basement while they were away and should be ready to sheetrock it by the end of the month.

Life in Minnesota is good, trying to find time to get everything done and still enjoy life, seems harder to do when you have a limited window of decent weather months.

Hope to get some new pictures online soon, just trying to find the time.

The cat and I stare at the room…

June 17th, 2009

100_1669 This afternoon was a tough one in the JETJR household, particularly for me. Lynsey and I had come to a decision to try and find our cat Tucker a new home. It would be best for all involved. Things just weren’t working out, he didn’t like Lynsey and would occasionally bite her, he started ruining things around the house (biting cords, breaking picture frames) and he had started acting out towards Jaylyn which is unacceptable to us.

Tucker was a great cat! This afternoon a new family came and picked him up (well the husband did), they have assured me that he will have a good home with other cats and some children in a farm house. I can only hope that that is true and that he will have a better life with all the attention and playmates he can handle. 012107_15292

Since bringing Jaylyn home he hasn’t gotten the attention he needs and I am sure that  contributed towards his behavior. I am also fairly certain that Copper (female-dog) dry humping continuously didn’t help.

Last night we allowed him to sleep with us one last time, he spent the night cuddled next to me, I hope he enjoyed it, I know that I did, I love having him cuddle up next me.

Tucker, you were a great cat, you were our first pet as a couple and as a family, I hope you have a long and fulfilling life in your new home and your new family is good to you. Know that you were and forever shall be loved, even though we didn’t always show it the best.

4 Months Old!

June 8th, 2009

100_2878

I find it so incredibly hard to believe that my little girl is already four months old. It seems like yesterday we brought her home, and only weeks ago we were still waiting for her to arrive.

It is utterly amazing to watch her grow, she had a 4 month checkup and here are her current stats: 25.5in tall, 15lbs 4oz, and 42cm head diameter.

She will now support herself standing provided we are holding her arms. The doctor says we can start feeding her food in a week! Real (baby) Food… Wow.

I am once again working on the pictures, you may have noticed. All the Jaylyn photos are currently online, click the link above, they are broken down by months of age, and are in a web/flash friendly format.
